Job Description
What you’ll do:
You’ll work in Internal Audit, a department that plays a vital role in keeping Lloyds Banking Group safe, secure and sustainable, by helping the Group manage risks and ensuring the correct measures are in place to mitigate them.
Lloyds Banking Group is Britain’s largest bank and the largest provider of digital financial products in the UK, so the role of auditor is an important one.
About the programme:
Starting in September 2022, we’ll support your study for a fully funded professional qualification - the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Level 4 Apprenticeship, before moving onto the Level 7 full Chartered Internal Auditor qualification.
In each of your placements, you’ll be aligned to the appropriate qualification stage - everything you learn will be relevant and readily applicable in your day-to-day role.
The apprenticeship scheme will give you significant insight into our entire business. Our central role offers a unique perspective on how Lloyds Banking Group functions as a whole and how our business areas operate across the organisation. This added exposure can be a valuable stepping stone towards senior leadership positions in the future.
By the end of this programme, you’ll have a clear path for progression within Lloyds Banking Group and a firm understanding of your strengths and career goals.
What you’ll learn:
Join us and over four and a half years you’ll enjoy placements across different internal audit teams and study for a professional qualification equal to a Master’s degree.
As part of on the job training, you’ll learn all about performing audits to test processes, identifying gaps in those processes and help to recommend steps to ensure the highest risks are effectively managed.
Your time will be divided across our different Audit teams:
Business Related: these teams look at how the bank works for our clients in our front-line, customer-facing business divisions. You’ll get to explore diverse areas such as Retail Banking, Insurance and Commercial Banking
Risk Specialist: these teams look at the engine room of the organisation; the specialist areas that allow bank operations to work as fluidly as possible. You could find yourself anywhere from People to Data or Finance to Cyber Security.
You’ll also complete a placement outside Internal Audit, where you’ll learn how other business areas work across our organisation.
What you’ll have:
We’re looking for innovative problem solvers, team-players and people with an eye for detail who are keen to make an impact within banking and financial services. If this sounds like you, begin your career in Internal Audit to gain broad exposure to different business areas and then specialise in a subject you’re passionate about.
