Interim QA / Technical Manager - Global Food Manufacture

**This role is offering remote working / Occasional travel to London area Customer Interim UK Technical Manage YOUR FUNCTION: As Technical Quality Manager UK you are responsible for guaranteeing the quality and food safety of all the products sold in the UK (both brands and private label). You implement, report & monitor the actions related to the quality management system for our factories and you are responsible for their coordination in order to maintain our quality standards, in accordance with the company's strategy & procedures.
More specific:
* You coordinate and monitor the quality indicators, objectives and non-conformities and take the appropriate and preventive measures for this.
* You coordinate (carry out and report) the program for the internal and external audits in the various factories to BRC / IFS standards. The Quality Manager performs ad hoc site visits to audit any issues which could be a concern for the customer.
* You are responsible for the follow-up of the complaint management for both consumers and customers.
You monitor (review, respond to and report) all internal non-conformities. You deal with customers if any product issues arise (recalls, incorrect labels, foreign bodies, etc.). As Quality Manager you identify complaint trends and work on an improvement plan. * You review customer portals: Chemical and Microbiological analysis results and report back to team and you review online website reviews on PL products. The Quality Manager also ensures specifications are kept up to date on customer portals (Sainsbury’s, Erudus, Smart Supplier). * You work on EPD/NPD projects: development, product launches, arranging samples, submission of paperwork, etc. You have weekly meetings with the UK team for the follow up.
* You ensure compliance for new Brexit legislation: labels, packaging tax, health certificates, etc. You review Artwork for branded and private label products. * You follow up Food Safety alerts which may impact raw materials used in products sold in the UK. * You build up a good contact and internal network with the various departments and also maintain contact with customers and suppliers in the context of all aspects related to quality systems and specifications.
You also arrange customer visits and follow up on sample requests for customers. YOUR PROFILE: * You obtained a Master Degree in Bio Engineering/Chemistry or you have at least 5 years equivalent experience in a food manufacturing and FMGC short life products environment. Experience in meat processing is advantageous. * Strong analytical and project management skills. * You have a strong knowledge on BRC / IFS / HACCP regulations. * You have experience with guiding internal and external audits.
* You have knowledge of UK legislation. * Good drive for problem solving, decision making and assertiveness. * You are a great communicator that builds and sustains positive relationships with both internal and external parties. * You are willing to travel to suppliers/customers when required.
