Job Description
The purpose of this role is to maximize Grainger Canada's sales opportunities for designated customers by increasing sales through execution of account strategy and performing customer service-related activities. This includes activities that drive superior sales growth, service, and strong customer relationships. The Interim Coverage Seller will be responsible for executing sales, contact penetration and service strategies within accounts assigned to them, as identified by management. Accounts may include open territories, within existing or other regions, as well as covered accounts where the business dictates a need for additional sales support.
- Leverages our sales model and processes to establish, maintain, and grow customer relationships; with an emphasis on identifying/exceeding customer needs and expectations, relative to Grainger offerings
- Develop/Create strong partnerships with assigned customers, building loyalty and a sustainable relationship
- Identify new opportunities (contacts, products, projects, services, etc.) that will build momentum and drive sales growth
- Fully leverage all resources and technical support provided by Grainger.
- Coordinate and execute activities and communication between each account and Grainger's business departments to achieve outlined business solutions, respond to customers' purchasing needs and coordinate sales.
- Follow engagement model to interact with each account on a regular and ongoing basis
- Utilize the wide array of available communication channels through all our sales / service channels to maximize customers' purchasing with Grainger
- Respond to and follow-up with customers' sales / service inquiries and purchasing needs
- Act with curiosity by asking open-ended questions to cross-sell / up-sell and offer solution-based recommendations to customers
- Engage with internal and external resources to help support and address customer needs
- Use and maintain customer and contact information in Salesforce.com to help guide interactions and share activity
- Providing after-sales support to ensure quality and satisfaction of delivered products and services
- Stay up to date on competitors to ensure we remain competitive and first choice to customers for their related products / services; provide appropriate competitive intelligence to management
- High School diploma required
- 1-3 years of experience in related field
- An assertive personality, high energy level and resilient character
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, phone)
- A high level of integrity in all business dealings
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Proven record of effectively influencing without authority
- Customer service and telemarketing experience is an asset
- Ability to rapidly build knowledge of Grainger's product lines
- Understand and use basic selling techniques: opening, probing, presentation, over-coming objections
- Having a drive and passion for sales
- Competitive drive with a constant desire to meet and/or exceed targets
- Possessing a high desire to excel without accepting mediocrity
