Transport for NSW's Point to Point Transport Commissioner is the industry regulator for all point to point transport, including taxis, rideshare providers and hire vehicles across the state.
The way we travel is changing. We aim to prioritise the safety of everyone using or providing point to point transport in NSW. We do this by educating, informing, building capacity and inspiring confidence across the industry.
We also work in partnership with other agencies such as Transport for NSW and NSW Police to ensure the safety of passengers, the public, drivers and all involved in our road networks.
About the Team
The Point to Point Transport Commission is the industry regulator for taxis and hire vehicles within the state of New South Wales.
The Compliance Inspectors are an integral part of the Point to Point Transport Commission as they are focussed on safety and compliance working with the point to point transport industry. Recently the team has been expanded to ensure greater enforcement and compliance across larger areas of NSW.
The opportunity
Right now, we have an opportunity for an Inspector to work in metropolitan Sydney who is responsible to work with industry to ensure compliance and implement compliance activity plans in partnership with other enforcement agencies to enforce relevant legislation in relation to public passenger vehicles carrying less than 12 passengers.
The role involves travelling throughout NSW for varying durations of time both planned and at short notice to undertake inspections ensuring adherence to the Point to Point Transport (Taxis and Hire Vehicles) Act 2016.
After a period of training Inspectors are authorised to issue penalty infringement notices and compliance notices.
You will be one of a Team of Inspectors reporting to the Senior Inspector region however on a day to day basis you will be working with one other team member.

About you
We are looking for a candidate with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills and a strong customer service focus as you will be interacting with a diverse range of stakeholders within the community including the general public, drivers and service providers who range from sole traders to multinational organisations.
You must have the ability to understand, interpret and explain legislation so that it is understood by the audience to whom you are delivering.
Adaptabilty and flexibility are essential as working hours and location can vary at short notice you may need to drive or fly to any destination in NSW.
To be successful in this role you will have strong conflict resolution skills and be self-motivated with the ability to think on your feet.
You must possess a valid Australian motor vehicle driver’s license.
Ideally you will have an automotive or engineering qualification
You must have previous experience in a compliance or regulatory role.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Transport Grade 6 ($94,879 - $104,367) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
