Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) is a key sales channel for BT, contributing £1.7bn revenue and £0.8bn EBIT per year, and serving 1m+ SME customers in the UK.  It’s an exciting period of growth for SME, and as we embed our new Enterprise model to achieve that growth, this role will support the delivery of our ambitious transformation plans and goals.

In a highly competitive market, the Inside Sales Advisor is responsible for retaining, developing and growing business with a portfolio of SME customers and prospects. Through building strong relationships with key customer contacts and decision-makers, the role holder achieves (exceeds!) targets for their accounts, by really getting to know their customers’ business and transformation roadmap, and developing sales plans that showcase how BT & EE’s products and services best meet their needs – targets may include customer contact activity and pipeline health, as well as SOV/revenue growth, market share, and customer experience.  A hunger to learn will be key in this role, alongside a desire to try new things to help customers readily engage with BT, to support our sales people to be successful, and to make sure BT beat the competition and win in the market. 

 

You'll have the following responsibilities

·         Our inside sales advisors typically work with a defined account base of small SME customers, who typically have single sites and relatively simple order needs.

·         The role holder will usually sell BT & EE’s standard products – across mobile, connectivity, and IP voice.  But they may sell products across multiple towers to the same customer if required to meet their needs.

·         Accountable for developing successful, sustainable and profitable relationships within their defined account base – use strong communication and influencing skills to build relationships with key customer contacts and decision-makers.

·         The inside sales advisor is accountable for retaining, developing and growing business within their defined account base of customers and prospects – following BT’s sales methodology and procedures, they use effective questioning to landscape accounts, and develop a strong understanding of the customer’s connectivity requirements and business transformation roadmap.

You'll have the following skills & experience

·         The ideal candidte for this role will thrive in a target-driven, customer facing environment.  Role holders are expected to achieve and exceed sales targets for their account base – targets and KPIs may include customer contact activity and pipeline health, as well as SOV/revenue growth, market share, and customer experience.

·         Customers interactions will be remote in a desk based inside sales environment, so the role holder will need to be confident and capable selling remotely – for example, over the phone, Teams call, email.

·         The role holder will need to keep sales tools and systems (e.g. Salesforce) up to date with accurate customer information, to support effective decision-making, and to comply with relevant data protection legislation.

·         Work with autonomy across their account base, ensuring sales plans are developed and delivered to secure deals, and apply knowledge of full portfolio to create solutions – typically applying offers and discounting within guidelines set for the portfolio.

·         Will be expected to identify both new business opportunities and growth opportunities within account base.
