Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role

The Infrastructure Specialist is accountable for the management of specialised and complex core infrastructure platforms.  This role will provide expert level specialist technical support, be an escalation point for third level systems issues and is responsible for coordinate the technical delivery of Infrastructure components for complex Technology and Business projects.

This position will provide:

  • Specialist technical consultancy, and technical leadership for complex technology projects and new systems across a diverse range of technologies, integrating with cloud offerings.
  • Accountability for the detailed design of technical solutions by working with Solutions Architects to deliver business solutions.
  • A single point of contact responsible for the delivery of complex Infrastructure systems
  • Expertise and technical leadership and mentoring of junior team members. This includes;
    • delegation of the delivery of technical components in the detailed design
    • being an escalation point for technically challenging systems issues
    • Oversight of monitoring of all elements of the technical infrastructure, aiming to optimise for efficiency in the short, medium and long-term.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring

Our preferable candidate will have extensive experience in implementing, supporting and managing Infrastructure systems (approximately 7+ years).  This experience will have developed:

  • Systems analysis and translating user requirements into technical business solutions.
  • Expert experience with automation and scripting techniques and tools
  • Significant experience in large scale Infrastructure projects to replace or upgrade core infrastructure systems.
  • Experience managing core ICT infrastructure technologies. For example: 
    • Microsoft Server Operating Systems
    • Microsoft 365 products and services
    • Systems hosted in Public Cloud Infrastructure (Azure, AWS)
    • Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
    • Enterprise Antivirus
    • Microsoft Exchange and Exchange Online
