Infrastructure Security Engineer 

THE ROLE:

This is an advanced, senior level role. The Infrastructure Security Engineer will provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise on infrastructure security matter, as well as hands-on deployment experience to secure on-prem and cloud infrastructure.

 

THE PERSON:

As a leader in IT infrastructure organization, you will help to transform the IT infrastructure security with your vision--influencing others with your thought leadership, closely collaborating with the InfoSec organization, and driving transformation. Your high Emotional Intelligence (EQ) enables you to successfully influence others and drive change at all levels.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be a liaison to information security organization. Collaborate and align the security policies and requirements to IT infrastructure
  • Define infrastructure security strategy, roadmap and drive for change
  • Focus on the cloud security implementation
  • Deploy security monitoring and integrate with SOC managed Security Orchestration, Automation and Response system (SOAR)
  • Coordinate with the Security Operation Center (SOC) on the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
  • Partner with Information security team on identifying on-prem and cloud infrastructure security risks areas, create the risks mitigation plans and execute them
  • Partner with project teams, vendors, support organizations, functional architects to drive security initiative from inception to production implementation.
  • Collaborate with application, and infrastructure architects and be responsible for the defining-designing-delivering of the technical security architectures, patterns, technical quality, risks, fitness for purpose and operability of technical security architecture solutions.
  • Lead technical presentations, demonstrating a good understanding of application, data, infrastructure, architecture expertise and application systems design.
  • Be a leader and mentor to the operations team. Lead by example. Ability to be hands-on contributor, when needed.   
  • Ability to do hands-on deploying, troubleshooting and solving for technical issues; own the problem and drive for resolution.

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Senior level/advanced years’ experience in leading infrastructure security in areas of data center, end-point compute and cloud
  • Must have experience in at least one of the following:
      • Azure Security Center and Sentinel
      • GCP Security Command Center
      • AWS Security Hub
  • Expert level in the managing security risks in data center infrastructure
  • Deep knowledge in Risk Management Framework (RMF) and the NIST 800-53 RMF Security Control Catalog
  • Intermediate to senior level experience in Cloud Architecture on Azure, GCP, and/or AWS
  • Hands-on experience on defined security governing requirements, deploy security monitoring tools in Azure, GCP, AWS
  • Prior experience in improve large scale vulnerability resolution process, infrastructure components security hardening
  • Prior experience in managing infrastructure security response and preventive actions
  • Progressive experience on influencing others and driving initiatives
  • Prior experience in managing trade-off between cybersecurity risk vs business requirements

 

Desirable:

  • Cybersecurity relevant certifications
  • Good understanding data privacy requirements, network topology, load balancing, network segmentation, and DevSecOps basis.
