Role Purpose

Design, deliver and test infrastructure across public cloud environments for proof of concepts, minimum viable products and enterprise grade product release to market using DevOps practices. The main deliverables of the role are Infrastructure as Code and end to end release CICD pipelines.

Active member of the squad and chapter , acting as subject matter expert within the team and with our internal customers (application developers and operational teams) driving innovation and improvement.

Key Accountabilities and decision ownership:
 

• Automation-first mentality - deliver and promote automation throughout the platform infrastructure in our data centres and public cloud cendors.
• Deliver low level platform designs and infrastructure as code through CICD pipelines, working effectively with other teams as part of an Agile squad.
• Supporting colleagues through means of design and code peer review, driving innovation and improvement.
• Not committed to any one tool but like to use the right tool for the job. Enjoy using chaos-engineering principles to make the entire system robust.
• Ensure the platforms are compliant with security policies of Vodafone and industry standards.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience

• Passionate technologist with impressive infrastructure knowledge
• Hands on networking and Linux administration skills with a secure by design mentality
• Experience using public cloud secure infrastructure design and development in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and HCP.
• Cloud-native architectures, including, micro-services, containers (Kubernetes or Docker), APIs (TM Forum)
• Able to efficiently write code in one programming language: Bash, Python< JavaScript, Golang, Powershell or other.
• Hands on experience in network design and programming and infrastructure as code automation (Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible, etc..)
