What you’ll do:

• Be responsible for delivery, configuration, maintenance, and continual improvement of the IT infrastructure supported by the Infrastructure and Cloud team. The estate comprises physical servers, VMWare guests and cloud virtual machines.
• Take ownership of technically challenging incidents and requests, ensuring operational issues are managed and progressed as quickly as possible. This will include liaising with 3rd Party vendors and system providers.
• Respond to security threats and carry out remedial work such as patching.
• Project build, delivery and support of mainly Linux servers along with on call duties.
• An ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, skills for automation with a view to developing skills to eventually be working as an SRE or DevOps Engineer.

What you’ll bring:

• Excellent Linux skills (build, administration, development, trouble shooting)
• Configuration management tools – such as Ansible, Puppet and Git
• Scripting and language skills – Bash, Python.
• Understanding of Storage Management, Cluster Technologies e.g. Pacemaker/Veritas and TCP/IP Networking
• Experience of virtualisation and public cloud platforms – VMWare, AWS, GCP, Azure

Our Content Technology and Innovation team delivers high-quality content to homes, customer devices, businesses and commercial partners across our European markets. With over 2500 colleagues from around the world, we combine our strategic insights, engineering know-how and operational excellence to use the most innovative technologies to create and distribute our award-winning content. Within CT&I the Content Broadcast and Platforms team are responsible for technology strategy, design, software development, deployment, support and lifecycle management.
