Within the Retail division of Lloyds Banking Group, we’re growing our team of cyber security specialists. The information security threats we face are constantly evolving, and we need colleagues who can understand the sophisticated security risks we face and help us to manage them. Starting in Spring 2022, we want highly motivated and hardworking individuals to join our team and train as apprentices to become our cyber security specialists.Job Description
The Information Security team sits within the Retail Division’s Operational Resilience function. Our purpose is to embed a strong security culture across the division and to our help our senior leaders understand and manage their information security risks. These are technical jobs where protecting the customer is at the heart of what we do. But we're not just a technical team, we’re also very much a business-facing one.
As a team we have a broad remit. On any given day you may find yourself:
Representing the division on Group-wide IT projects
Providing guidance on the security impact of new technologies on the division
Working with our cyber intelligence teams to ensure the division understands the threats we might face tomorrow
Supporting the assessment and operation of our information security risks or perhaps crafting new and imaginative ways to educate tens of thousands of colleagues about information security.
We don’t just want you to understand cyber security, but also how it impacts a diverse an evolving business. You'll need to be as comfortable discussing security with our central cyber security functions as you are discussing it with customer-facing colleagues. We’re looking for individuals who are confident working and collaborating with a wide range of partners. Colleagues who have an eye for identifying processes or systems that are not working as they should and who are passionate about fixing the problem. We work in an environment where compliance is essential, so we need people who recognise when things don’t look right and speak up.
As part of the apprenticeship you’ll receive industry recognised cyber security training. It would be beneficial to have a basic understanding of technology to get you started in the role, but most important is a desire to learn.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that has genuine impact across the whole division. You’ll have an opportunity not only to develop a solid understanding of cyber security through on the job learning and industry recognised cyber security training, but also learn how to apply this in a multi-layered business.
Essential Qualifications
A Level or equivalent qualification in any subject and 5 GCSEs grade C or above including English and Maths (or equivalent level qualifications)
