Job Description

As a key member in a small knowledge management team, you will be maintaining and supporting all internal information management for the Defence Equipment Management Organisation (DEMO). This role comes with a variety of responsibilities including site management of the Defence Document Management System (DDMS), communications and training the wider DEMO workforce.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and maintaining internal DDMS sites for DEMO;
  • Taking the lead with DDMS queries and issues;
  • Training DEMO employees on DDMS site management, including 1-on-1 and in small groups;
  • Writing, editing, and publishing user guides;
  • Coordinating the content for the delivery of the monthly DEMO newsletter;
  • Designing and maintaining new SharePoint lists and libraries; and
  • Coordinating and delivering training sessions, including developing course content, booking-in participants and rooms.

You will need exceptional communication skills and the ability to positively engage with people from all levels of the organisation. A key part of this role will be training, so you need the confidence to speak both in person and online to groups of up to 10 people. You will need to be proactive, creative and self-motivating as there are many repetitive elements in the tasks, as well as needing to demonstrate patience in training a wide range of people with varying technical ability.

To be successful in the role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in information and record management and databases;
  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to proof read and edit;
  • Great attention to detail, ability to self-manage workload and multi-task;
  • Working knowledge of Sharepoint; and
  • Competent in use of full MS Office Suite, including Powerpoint and Visio.
