Responsibility for managing compliance obligations but the role will be advisory focused, with an emphasis on partnering with business stakeholders toadvise on a wide range of issues relating to VAT and other indirect taxes

Role Specific Knowledge, Skills & Experience: 

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to present tax advice to non-tax colleagues with clarity
• Outgoing with an ability to build relationships with a wide network of stakeholders
• A highly motivated self starter, with an ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Leadership skills – the ability to motivate, develop and coach others to succeed, or ability and desire to develop these skills.
• A desire and ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Resilience and ability to adapt in an ever changing environment.

About You

Ideally, you'll to have:

• ACA/CTA qualification
• An understanding of ERP systems and indirect tax compliance processes
• 5 years experience in Indirect Tax, either in a professional services or in-house environment, with strong technical capabilities
• Prioritising workload of self to meet deadlines.
• Senior level Finance and Business stakeholder management.

New Ways of Working

The wellbeing of our colleagues is really important to us and we want everyone to have a great home and work life balance. Because of this we've introduced a four day working week for all full time colleagues based at our head office in Bradford.

You’ll be able to flex your working hours around the core hours of 10am-4pm, and can choose to do different hours each day as long as you’re covering these core hours. Each four day week will contain four average nine hour days.

To be more competitive and support our stores and sites more effectively, we now work over a six day operation, Monday to Saturday inclusive, and everyone in our head office now works one Saturday in every four (or 13 a year), albeit Saturday will be a shorter working day of 6 hours.
