Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Sales Engineer for our Heating, Ventilation, Air conditioning (HVAC) team who are part of the Building Technologies and Solutions business. Every substantial facility needs efficient, reliable climate control. Johnson Controls offers the largest portfolio of HVAC equipment and controls in the world. You can find our solutions at work in offices and factories, in warehouses and stores, in campuses and hospitals, in apartment buildings and hotels.

 

The Sales engineer position is an exciting Sales role that reports directly into the Sales Manager for the UK&I Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) business.

 

This is a new role at an exciting time of growth within JCI. The role will focus on sales via the end user and specification / consultant market but will also have responsibility for a number of named Main Contractors and M&E Contractors. You will have the opportunity to build on any existing customer relationships you may have whilst driving new business across your network. You will be targeting product driven opportunities within our HVAC sector that translate into profitable growth. You will develop, communicate, and implement a comprehensive plan to grow the YORK brand across your region.

How you will do it
As a Senior Sales Engineer you will be able to function independently and be customer focused. You will understand your customer base and work to align their needs with our services. You will have the ability to build relationships that can develop and expand your portfolio. Your exceptional communication skills will help deliver a positive impression of JCI as we aim to grow and develop this area of our business. Through your previous sales experience and successful track record you will identify new customers and sales across your region.

 

What we look for

  • The successful candidate will have previous HVAC industry experience.
  • Sales experience within the chiller market and a proven track record.
  • Technical knowledge to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • High level of creation of new accounts and opportunities
  • Experience of the YORK product is preferred but not essential
  • Strong communicator with a proven track record of developing sales within a commercial environment
  • Ability to manage and influence both internal & external stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellency in verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
