The HSE Manager role incorporates influential & leadership skills used from the ground up liaising with Toll staff and our  on-site customer on a regular basis. It will support a large Grocery customer in Parkinson, playing a critical role in overall operational success. This role will suit an HSE Advisor/Manager looking for their next career step, wanting to make a real impact by providing guidance and knowledge to aid the delivery of successful safety plans across a large Logistics depot.

Key accountability and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Take the lead in coaching and mentoring on HSE strategies and activities that allow and encourage a safety obsessed culture.
  • Identify and implement HSE training and communication programs.
  • Attend and develop materials/ provide data for HSE Meetings/ HSE Toolbox (Pre-start) Meetings.
  • Conduct regular site HSE inspections with business stakeholders to drive improvements on site conditions.
  • Conduct incident investigations to determine root cause and timely corrective action. 
  • Review contractor HSE performance, including the pre-qualification / engagement process.

Qualifications

To be a success in this role you will possess:

  • 5-7 years practical experience in a HSE role with a focus on transport and logistics.
  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and / or other relevant discipline
  • Sound knowledge of Logistics/Transport safety legislation, including COR, Heavy vehicle compliance, Audits, Risk evaluations, and training resources.
  • Excellent written and communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with fellow team members, management, stakeholders and industry experts and write high quality reports.
  • Strong customer management focus and influencing and coaching skills.
