HR – Reward Specialist
As a HR Reward Specialist, you will contribute to all HR Planning, Steering & Reward topics within the HR team and on behalf of the BMW UK Group entities it provides HR services for. With particular focus on all Reward topics, this role plans and implements a variety of HR projects and supports the creation, development and implementation of the local HR Planning & Steering strategy, in line with our sustainability and diversity aims, as well as business, legal and regulatory requirements.
- Development, in conjunction with all UK and Ireland entities and the HR Region, local reward frameworks and policies (including adaptations of Global Reward Policies which are centrally driven). Planning and leading implementation appropriate activities within the relevant entities.
- Horizon scanning, making proposals for and supporting steering of the future reward and remuneration agenda, including future benefits, pensions and total reward proposals
- Planning and management of the annual pay review cycles, working with HR Business Partners and managers to ensure fair treatment and outcomes.
- Participation and facilitation of the UK Reward Circles, developing and aligning UK Reward strategy across the UK BMW Group.
- Leading the process and ensuring accurate submissions into annual remuneration benchmarking surveys.
- Preparation, analysis, utilisation and presentation of appropriate and relevant data and management summaries to make proposals for and support the steering of the overall HR and Reward strategies and policies. Creation and delivery of specialised presentations to senior management and committees/circles, as required.
- Leading Gender Pay annual reporting cycle.
- Working with the HR Business Partner teams and the business to perform job evaluation activities.
- Providing “expert†support to the wider HR team, including operational guidance on in-year remuneration activities.
- Management and/or support with HR projects to ensure the function remains fit for the future.
- Participation in other relevant working groups to achieve harmonisation of processes across the UK and the wider BMW Group wherever possible. Responsibility for championing continuous improvement processes.
Qualifications
Higher Education/Degree or related qualifications as required. (Chartered) Membership of a professional institution (e.g. CIPD), or equivalent, preferably in a Business / HR related field. CIPD qualification desirable.
- Strong IT literacy particularly in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SAP HR.
- Specialist experience and knowledge of best practice in Reward topics. Experience in a HR Generalist or Finance role.
- Knowledge of remuneration benchmarking methodologies. Experience with job evaluation methodologies e.g. Mercer and Korn Ferry.
- Experience of working with senior leaders and CEO/CFO populations, as well as of working cross functionally & internationally.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple but unconnected projects and timelines to budget, quality and deadlines.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills. Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
- High self-motivation and initiative. Ability to deal with uncertainty and handle pressure whilst solving problems and conflicts.
- Highly developed ability to prioritise, assert and make decisions.
- Clear, up to date knowledge of ACAS guidelines.
- Knowledge of BMW Group & individual site HR Processes and Procedures and the BMW Group organisational structure.
