ROLE RESPONSIBILITY:
HR Advisor (Patient Transport Services)
£35,000 per annum
Full time, 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
London/Kent however the successful candidate will be based from home
We transport patients to and from hospital safely, comfortably and on time. We work in partnership with NHS Trusts for the benefit of patients and to provide a high quality service. Our staff are highly trained and our vehicles are clean and well equipped to maintain or improve quality of life whilst patients are in our care.
The successful applicant will the HR Business Partner in delivering a professional, effective and proactive advisory service in relation to G4S and client establishments, including policy development, the development of reward frameworks and support on bid/tendering/TUPE projects.
What’s involved:
- To undertake all necessary duties of a HR Adviser in relation to a defined portfolio of operational service area(s) including disciplinary, grievance, attrition, absence, TUPE (where relevant) and capability.
- Support the business unit managers with effective workforce planning, monitoring new starters and leavers to forecast for future vacancies.
- Work closely with the PTS Business Intelligence team in collating the relevant HR management information as part of weekly/monthly operational reviews.
- Provide advice and guidance on high level or complex employment related issues, policies/procedures and practices and terms and conditions across the business unit.
- Develop, monitor, and review HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance whilst being fit for purpose.
- Support the HR Business Partner and Senior Management Teams in reviewing talent across the business unit, including succession planning and organisational design.
- Support first line managers with recruitment and absence improvements.
- Highlight issues with a strategic, legal or employee relations impact to the HRBP
- Support the education and coaching to line managers on HR subject matters.
- Liaise with Trade Unions and staff representative on employee relation matters including pay negotiations if applicable.
- To support any new business ‘wins’ or contract losses, in relation to the HR mobilisation plan for TUPE.
- Attend and support business Senior Management Team (SMT) meetings as and when required.
- Attend and contribute to cross business meetings/activity as required.
- Carry out any other duties as may be determined from time to time with the general scope of the post
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Essential:
- Previous experience of working as a HR generalist or HR Advisor.
- Educated to degree level or CIPD qualified
- Be accustomed to working in a challenging fast paced environment, whilst working on multiple projects simultaneously to specific deadlines.
- An excellent communicator, both verbal and written.
- Flexibility to travel within own geographical area of responsibility and wider G4S locations
Desirable:
- Experience in change management / compliance environment
- Experience of working with trade unions and staff representative groups.
- Sound, up to date knowledge of UK employment law
- Experience of collating, analysing and evaluation of information.
- Able to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of people gaining credibility at all levels.

A DBS check and relevant police/ prison clearance will be required to exclude any individuals with a history of behaviour which could be considered unacceptable (by G4S or the clients). Safety is of paramount importance and the post holder must ensure that safe systems of work are followed without compromise.
