Our Distribution team at Thatcham is looking to recruit a HGV 2 Driver to support our Distribution centre operation. In this role you will provide an effective and efficient loading and delivery service from Thatcham to Knightsbridge, Heathrow, Gatwick and Customers ensuring the highest standard of service excellence that Harrods is renowned for.

You will carry out a thorough daily walk around check at the beginning of each shift, or upon changing vehicle and report any vehicle defects to TVDC office. You will take ownership for maintaining the cleanliness of your vehicle and for the loading/ unloading and safe transportation of all goods carried. You will drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law, paying particular attention to the breaks required under both drivers’ hours, and the EU working time directive.

Please note the successful applicant must hold a Category C Licence.

This position works varied shifts between 5am and 11pm across any 5 of 7 days a week with regular weekend work.

About You

To drive as part of our fleet you must be over the age of 21 and hold a clean, category C for HGV. You’ll need experience working in a commercial distribution operation and accustomed to working with warehouse team members and working to set SLAs and KPIs. You’ll be proactive in problem solving and have excellent communication skills. As a key part of our operation you will be mindful of and motivated to deliver an excellent service to our end customer. Confident to escalate and communicate delays, supply chain challenges and able to work flexibility to deliver this consistently each day. You’ll need to be willing to learn, if you do not already have SAP system experience and accepting of our uniform standards which must be worn each day on shift.
