About this role

This role will work within CE Heavy Engineering Central Operations team working to the Central Operations Efficiency Manager, This role will support the Efficiency Manager working with and across the Heavy Engineering organisation influencing, multiple stakeholders (inc senior managers) primarily to identify and deliver efficiency improvements leading to financial savings.

You will support in the delivery of monthly Margin Reporting, using the report to provide key insight and analysis to identify   opportunities and deliver best practice across the Civils organisation.

You will be expected to have experience of financial and commercial processes and systems having a lead role and playing a part in finding opportunity and benefits but also adding value to our business.

You'll have the following responsibilities

Experience of working with Commercial teams to deliver the unit financials.

Ability to interpret financials into meaningful insight, to inform decision making.

Be willing to voice an opinion and look at the “art of the possible”.

Demonstrates a high level of analytical capability.

Delivery of accurate and timely reporting as required by the business.

Act as a point of contact for all Civil Engineering Managers for all financial support.

Provide support in the preparation and reporting of financial and volume forecast, actuals, rolling forecast.

Commercial contract management.

Ability to understand financial performance and drive opportunities to mitigate shortfalls and leverage opportunities.

To operate and check compliance to financial controls.

Supporting the Cost Transformation agenda and following through to P&L.

Interface with Openreach procurement and equipment/consumables/plant suppliers (inc PO spend).

Delivery of allocated work within timescales and commitment time.

You'll have the following skills & experience

Excellent communication skills with an ability to translate complex operational performance and challenges into concise business updates working across direct and virtual teams.

Collaboration and effective team working skills, especially where there are conflicting demands.

Demonstrate strong data analytical skills.

Analytical skills , and working with Microsoft Excel.

Ability to work in fast-moving and evolving environment.

Ability to build trusted relationships across teams.

Time management and problem-solving skills.

Financial acumen.

Experience & knowledge of the Openreach field duct & cable network (desirable).
