As a member of the Commercial Team, you will be at the centre of this transformation. You will work closely with key stakeholders across Sales, Finance and Product functions to support and often lead on the commercial and pricing propositions for contract renewals, new business opportunities or new products.
The role will include managing the voice cost base for the Group, owning the financial performance of Carrier and Wholesale Voice, presenting to governance steercos and boards, supporting contract management, driving commercial strategy development and delivering ad hoc value-add projects, as well as supporting stakeholders on budget process, risks and opportunities.
The TTWS Commercial Team plays a major role in the shaping and structuring of sales opportunities, informing product strategy, maintaining the customer base and maximising value by using our market, regulatory, product and customer knowledge. We work alongside and support our stakeholders which include Sales, Finance, Product and Operations.
Our team ranges from Analyst to Commercial Director. We are mainly based out of our state of the art Soapworks building in Salford, however many of our colleagues are based around the UK. We offer a very flexible working structure between being home-based and office-based.
Some of the key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Responsible for delivering the carrier and wholesale inbound and outbound voice budget and targets (P&L and cash), monitoring and understanding the financial position and onwards forecast
- Provide analytical, commercial, regulatory and technical expertise to support achievement of the commercial business plan, delivering and reviewing recommendations supported by data and analysis
- Product strategy: represent Commercial / Carrier, inputting and presenting data as an SME on UK and International voice cost tariffs, regulation, traffic types, blend and volume, available interconnects and capacity, contractual issues and market trends.
- Manage the transition from legacy to next generation IP voice
- Represent Commercial / Carrier at Leadership Team level, informing of risks and opportunities, presenting data and initiatives with confidence and clarity
- Leading or supervising the leadership of commercial value-add projects and business objectives & key results, including initiative generation, assessment and proposal through to implementation
- Regular collaboration with the TTWS sales team and Product team to ensure alignment, provide commercial guidance and ensure complex issues are understood, support propositions and evaluate the market
- Responsible for the integrity of the voice cost base for the Group, to ensure market leading costs that support sales propositions across all channels, collaborating with Technology and all sales channels
- Work with the Regulatory Department on responses to consultations, assessing the impact of regulatory changes and ensuring compliance, managing any changes required across functions
- Maintain and grow carrier and wholesale relationships, managing negotiations, dispute resolution and procurement
- Proactively assess opportunities to maximise value, via eg traffic routing, contract analysis, assessment of competitor risk, market positioning, and propose viable initiatives managing through to completion
- Manage group-wide change to meet regulatory or industry requirements through to timely completion
- Ownership of processes, liaison lead with auditors in respect of the Financials and of processes (eg ISO)
- Lead a high performing team, focus on continuous improvement, succession planning and manage team performance and development.

To be successful in this role you will need the following in your skill set:
Must have:
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement at all levels
- Strong commercial acumen with proven experience of deal wins and negotiation process
- Proven change agent, able to organise, coordinate and deliver in complex scenarios

- Eye for detail and strong analytical skills to support solid commercial decision making
- Ability to lead and develop a high performing team
- Excellent knowledge of voice industry and regulations, working knowledge of voice network, routing and billing
- Creative thinking, unafraid to challenge, able to respond quickly in a dynamic environment
Be great to also have:
- High proficiency in MS Excel & PowerPoint Financial qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
- Understanding of how the deals translate into the financials (Up to commit, COIN accounting, use of market rates)
- Experience of process improvement /strategic project delivery
