Job Description

Who are we?

Mr Bamboo Cup is a scaleup providing highest quality, eco-friendly & beautiful, promotional products to businesses.

We are a responsible digital native challenger brand, changing the world by providing businesses the option to spend on eco-friendly & reusable promotional products at retail quality. It's our aim to be the world’s largest provider of reusable highest-quality eco-friendly promotional items (the amount of cheap low-quality plastic tat given away by companies each year is astounding!).We’re building a team of world class, remote first, professionals empowered to do the best work of their careers and make a dent in global CO2 emissions by changing corporate budgets forever.

The Position

Our flagship products are our reusable water bottles and coffee cups, which clients have customised with their logo or bespoke artwork.

The Head of Operations is an exciting new greenfield position at a very exciting stage, reporting directly to the board, you’ll take full responsibility for:

  • Ensuring we have best in class team, systems and processes in place across all business functions.
  • You’ll be empowered with all the resources and support you require to create a world-leading and scalable department, encompassing fulfilment, logistics, customer success, HR, and recruitment functions
  • You’ll also play a key part in ensuring that the marketing, sales and finance departments have the infrastructure and support they need to take on and win over the world!
  • You’ll be liaising directly with the C-Suite and heads of department, supporting them with insightful and probing data and reporting, giving them an killer advantage in a competitive market
  • You will manage and motivate a talented team of direct reports, whilst expanding and hiring exceptional new people who share the ambitions and values of the company - you will be a beacon of enthusiastic, smart, yet empathetic leadership.
  • You’ll be responsible for choosing, building and managing key supplier relationships - we believe in win-win relationships, professional, friendly, but most importantly exceptional levels of service for us and our customers.
  • We love to use new technologies where they make sense to accelerate our aims (and hate where they’re distractions!), so you’ll be given free reign to research, test and procure the best in class systems and services that make sense for the business goals
  • Our growth to date has been a roller coaster of a ride - you’ll need to strap on a seat belt and join the ride - preparing the company ambitious expansion across a number of axis, and all of the challenges that come with it. This isn’t a job for the faint-hearted, but we can promise you  a LOT of fun and a lifechanging moment for your career along the way.
  • Our brand, culture and values define us, but the full story is yet to be written, so we’re looking for a big personality who will put their own unique stamp on our company and enrich us with their ideas, perspectives and experience
  • Stand up and help shape a greener future! We’re a bright, modern and ambitious team, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the look and feel of the global remote first team at a nascent stage in our journey.

Location / Working hours:

  • HQ’d in Shoreditch, London - We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all work environments - it shouldn’t be a case of choosing work to live or live to work, we believe our work should both fit around, as well as play a key part in a happy, fulfilled and balanced life. That’s why we’ve embraced a remote-first model. We’re a global team, with global ambitions, but we also make time to meet in person, so for this role we’re looking for someone who’s based within 2 hours of GMT and able to travel globally as and when required.
  • We operate a flexible working policy to accommodate individual circumstances and lifestyle choices (there’s always room for family, friends, hobbies, adventure, culture or whatever is required to create a proper productive work-life balance.

  • Experience managing people
  • Self motivated, and in a life position to further yourself and change the world with your work
  • Tech savvy, with a keen eye for systems design and use of technology where appropriate to achieve goals
  • Independent minded - life would be very dull if we all thought the same thing and never challenged one another!
  • A people person - good at building relationships with all levels and types of person, be they board members, directors, employees, customers, partners or clients.
  • Ready to muck-in and take on a variety of duties and responsibilities
  • Excellent written English skills required. We’re not looking for the next Shakespeare, but someone able to clearly and simply communicate with all parties.
