Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience sourcing and managing to build relationships, and creating and executing on pipelines
  • Experience in mobile games, digital content, and mobile distribution channels
  • Experience building partnerships within the gaming industry

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience operating within and leading cross-functional teams (e.g., Product Management, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Marketing, etc.)
  • Experience in the gaming industry and passion for working with developers and helping them succeed
  • Ability to influence, cross-functionally and externally, and to work in a collaborative environment, to solve often ambiguous, complex problems, and develop creative solutions with high attention to detail and execution
  • Understanding of mobile game development technologies, business models, value chains, and landscape
  • Excellent product understanding and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to advocate and drive key product innovations or opportunities with the developer community

In this role, you will help shape the Western European games developer ecosystem. As Head of Games for Western Europe, you will cultivate and grow partnerships with developers in the region with a focus on helping them build successful businesses using the Android platform and Google Play. You will use excellent business acumen, leadership expertise, and extensive industry knowledge to lead Google Play’s effort to acquire, drive, and grow a portfolio of Android games, identify emerging opportunities and challenges, help shape strategy, and drive business outcomes for our partners and Google. You will think strategically about emerging opportunities, challenges, and complexities in the Western Europe mobile games ecosystem, and develop thoughtful insights, recommendations, and action plans. You will work cross-functionally to help Google Play Games partners improve their reach, retention, and business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, lead, and grow a team of Partnership Managers to accelerate Western European mobile gaming businesses by helping developers build and grow their business on Google Play/Android.
  • Think strategically about emerging opportunities, challenges, and complexities in the mobile games and content ecosystem, and develop thoughtful insights, recommendations, and action plans.
  • Create and drive regional/local market strategy in partnership with cross-functional teams, regularly communicate updates to global and regional cross-functional leadership.
  • Develop and execute plans to boost the local games ecosystem, focusing on international growth and product/platform innovation.
  • Lead and mentor a team, and play an active role in the Western European and EMEA leadership group.
