Are you excited by the opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the retail energy market to deliver net zero? Are you passionate about what’s needed to achieve sustainable competition that works for customers and suppliers? Here at EDF, we’re seeking a Head of Customers Policy & Regulation to work within the Net Zero Strategy and Policy function; a function critical to developing and managing the business.
In this important and rewarding role, you will work with the Customers Executive Team and other senior executives to identify, agree and implement policy and regulatory strategies that support EDF’s strategic goals. Using your excellent communication and influencing skills you will build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders at a senior level, particularly Ofgem, BEIS and other industry participants. You will lead on the policy and regulatory opportunities and risks across all areas of the retail market, including Price Regulation and the future of competition, the decarbonisation of heat, and Smart Metering and other large industry change programmes that will transform the industry in the years ahead.
You’ll be expected to have an excellent knowledge of the current energy retail market policy and regulatory environment as well as the key internal and external drivers for future change. You’ll have an appreciation of the resulting commercial pressures and opportunities for our Customers Business Unit, and an ability to think strategically about the potential future role of energy suppliers in the delivery of net zero. As well as supporting the Customers Business Unit to interpret and comply with existing regulations, you’ll play a vital role in analysing the commercial impact of changes to the policy and regulatory frameworks, and will form position papers, strategies and campaigns for key policy positions.
As an inspirational leader, you will motivate and develop your team of policy and regulation experts with the aim of maximising their contribution and potential. You’ll also enjoy working alongside a wide range of other specialists, including, legal, operational, financial and commercial teams at a senior level, and will build strong and collaborative relationships both within the corporate team and widely across the business.
