Capture and Bid Management Excellence
- Act as the RUK Capture Management Excellence (CMX) Lead, networking with US CMX Leads to ensure RUK is represented in global capture capability development activities
- Leading the development and implementation of RUK BD and capture improvement initiatives, embedding proven best practice into RUK policy, processes and guidance, and ensuring an effective capture framework is in place to support the delivery of the LRP and business strategy
- Leading the development/identification of capture related best practice (both internally and externally to Raytheon UK), and promote these across RUK captures
- Establishing and maintaining strategic internal and external networks/relationships that facilitate capture process improvement, alignment, and tailoring
- Identifying capture and bid management related training needs and either identify RTX Training solutions to address the need or develop and implement local training solutions
- Identifying and advising other Functional Leads on capability gaps and future training needs identified in their Functions which are adversely affecting RUK business development activities
- Providing functional leadership and support to;
- Full time Capture and Bid Managers within the BD & Strategy Function
- Other RUK Staff appointed as Capture or Bid Managers
- Leading and managing Capture and Bid Management recruitment and appointment activities
- Developing and managing RUK Bid Centre facilities and resources across RUK sites
- Developing, communicating, and managing team performance through coaching and mentoring
- Undertaking staff development and performance reviews for full time RUK Capture and Bid Managers
- Coordinating the professional development of BD & Strategy staff, including activities associated with the RTX BD Capability Framework
- Leading the organisation and management of RUK Business Winning Community of Practice events
- Communicating and promoting capture and bid management capability and best practice activities
- Liaising with Functional teams to promote best practice and ensure alignment
- Identifying and promoting areas of outstanding achievement in business winning.
Capture Coaching & Support
- Supporting the identification of Raytheon UK (RUK) strategic captures and help coordinate the allocation of resource and support as required
- Facilitating stakeholder analysis, mapping and hot button identification workshops (as required)
- Supporting capture teams in the use of competitive intelligence tools and techniques to assess customer issues, hot buttons and key performance parameters and appraise competitor’s potential solutions
- Chairing and facilitation of Colour Reviews (as required)
- Liaising with Price to Win (PTW) SMEs across the enterprise and with external providers in order to gain their support for the development of robust PTW assessments in support of capture
- Leveraging networks within RTX, the customer community, and industry to help Capture Managers shape their capture
- Supporting capture teams in the creation of capture steering boards, including the agreement of LT sponsors
- Supporting Capture Teams in identifying and securing suitable facilities (physical and virtual) for the capture
- Supporting the development of compelling customer focussed proposals, through participation in or leadership of Pink, Red and Gold Team reviews
- Providing guidance on capture and bid process tailoring, whilst maintain governance requirements
- Mentoring capture team members in effective capture methods using lessons learned and best practices from across the company
- Supporting the business in the development and implementation of a resource planning process and tool to improve capture/bid resourcing across RUK
- Conducting independent capture plan, win strategy and proposal quality assessments
- Conducting independent win/loss analysis and lessons learned reviews (as required)
Proposal Development & Creative Media
- Management of the Creative Media and Proposal Development Team
- Management of the RUK Bid Centre
- Coordination and prioritisation of creative media activities
- Liaison with the Communications Function (as required)
Governance
- Ownership (on behalf of the RUK BD & Strategy Director) and improvement of Capture and Bid Management policies, processes, guidance and other documentation
- Providing subject matter expertise in support of internal audits of RUK Captures, BD owned policies and the capture phases of IPDS
- Leading on behalf of RUK, the resolution of RTX, RI&S and RMD level capture process/capability actions – reporting progress to RUK BD & Strategy Director
- Managing the RUK Capture Manager Certification process, liaising with the RTX BD Professional Development Director
- Contributing to the development and implementation of the BD Functional Plan
