The Person

As a Hazards Engineer, you will be responsible for -

 

•    Producing updates to Hazard Verification Studies, through the application of relevant technical methodologies, relating to Internal and External Hazards for buildings within Edvance UK Scope - Produce simplified design calculation hypotheses and define the various possible scenarios for each internal or external threat situation:


o    Identify the equipment under threat and also the way in which the equipment would be affected. 
o    Produce studies on the functional redundancies impacted.


•    Managing technical topics relating to the protection requirements for the hazards within the building and system design,  
•    Supporting matrix organisation through the design and construction phase with technical requests and design changes by providing technical expertise on the implementation of the safety functional requirements within the design,
•    Participating to Edvance wide discipline meetings relating to specific hazards (Internal Explosion, High Energy Line Break…),
•    You will be attached to one dedicated building within Edvance UK scope, and will be the correspondent for the integration of all the hazard studies. 

 

You will work in conjunction with the Building Group Leaders, the Nuclear Safety Team, the System Engineers, Civil Engineers and Plant Layout Engineers.
 

The Skills

 

•    Degree qualified Engineer (in an appropriate scientific or engineering discipline)
•    Knowledge of safety requirement implementation and hazard studies (preferably from a highly regulated industry)
•    Knowledge of Nuclear Safety Assessment Principles and experience of their application
•    Experience in the area of systems, layout engineering and pipework
•    Knowledge and the ability to navigate PDMS and Navisworks software
