About the Team

This role sits within the Group Reporting team, a small, specialised team within the larger TalkTalk Group Finance team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Group Reporting Manager you will assist in the preparation of the Interim and Annual Report and preparation of subsidiary statutory accounts, contributing to the successful delivery of the external audit whilst developing a strong relationship with audit team. The role interacts with Core Finance regarding implementation of accounting treatment and interacts with external audit.


What the day-to-day will look like

  • Reporting to the Senior Group Reporting Manager within a specialist team of 3 members

  • Assisting in the preparation of the Interim and Annual Report

  • Preparation of subsidiary statutory accounts (specifically prepare a first draft by extracting the numbers from HFM)

  • Research Technical issues relevant to Group’s businesses and sharing and articulating their research to more senior team members

  • Research and communicating changes in accounting standards and the business impact

  • Interacting with Commercial Finance regarding treatment of new products, offers or corporate transactions


To be successful in the role you will need to have the following

  • A solid understanding of the environment in which the business operates, including key transactions

  • You will have a high level of cognitive and analytical skills in order to prepare formal deliverables for the business and auditors

  • Given the level of interaction with multiple teams internally and externally, the role will require strong communication skills both verbally and by contributing to formal outputs from the team

  • A solid foundation of accounting knowledge and ability to research is required, which will be developed in role

  • A knowledge of the business and industry will be key to the individual understanding how financial reporting standards would be applied

  • Experience within large business

  • Ability to manage and influence stakeholders

 
It would also be great to have

  • Background in Technical Accounting and aptitude to learn and improve Technical Accounting skills

  • Knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft AX and HFM
