Introduction:
Ground crew positions are required for the Apache Long Term Training and Support Service (LTTSS) contract, which starts in January 2021. These positions are required from receipt of the first training aircraft in March 2021.These role will be full-time and based in Middle Wallop, Hampshire.
Responsibilities:
These roles will undertake ground movement and refueling of all Apache AH-64E in the Supporting Pool (SP) that are located at Middle Wallop. The posts will be responsible for the timely and safe delivery of aircraft, into and out of the hangars, as required to meet the Operational Conversion Unit (OCU) Flying Programme. In due course, the team will provide the same service to aircraft undergoing phase maintenance at the Fleet Support Bacility (FSF). Both organisations are at Middle Wallop. Shift working in support of the OCU flying programme is to be expected. Duties include:
The safe, effective, efficient and timely conduct of aircraft ground movement tasks in support of the Apache AH-64E Operational Conversion Unit (OCU) and Fleet Support Facility (FSF).
The safe, effective, efficient and timely conduct of aircraft refuel/de-fuel tasks (limited to connection and disconnection of Authority-supplied fuelling equipment) in support of the Apache AH-64E Operational Conversion Unit (OCU) and Fleet Support Facility (FSF).
The conduct of aircraft starts, marshalling and shut-downs on Apache AH-64E aircraft.
Securing of Apache AH-64E aircraft on the ground (i.e. fitting/removal of blanks, covers and tie-downs as needed).
Guidance and direction of non-ground crew personnel assigned to an aircraft ground movement task.
Operation of aircraft ground movement equipment.
Operation of ground safety equipment.
Operation of communications equipment.
Planning, liaison and communication with aircrew and technicians.
Exercising personal responsibility for safety, quality, integrity, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention and tool control/accountability.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a UK military environment
Previous experience in a similar role
Work Authorisation: This position does not have sponsorship approval.This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants.
Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance for which the Government requires UK Citizenship.
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
