Graphics Research Lead

AMD Research is an entrepreneurial research organization with a superb track record of driving research innovations into AMD products. We generate innovations in processor architectures, graphics, interconnects, memory technologies, and software to create new business opportunities for AMD.

The Role

We are looking for a graphics and gaming technical leader to explore new frontiers in visual and interactive technologies. This researcher will define and execute an aggressive agenda for forward-looking and disruptive graphics and gaming technologies, including non-traditional rendering, resource-constrained graphics, and applications of AI and inference to graphics. Also, this leader will grow a world-class team of graphics researchers to expand existing capabilities in AMD Research and the Radeon Technologies Group (RTG). The team will collaborate with AMD product groups and university research programs to develop cutting-edge technologies and drive them rapidly into future AMD products.

You focus on delighting the end user through algorithms, software, and hardware. Key Responsibilities:

• Define an aggressive graphics and gaming research agenda including (but not limited to):
  • Non-traditional rendering
  • Resource-constrained graphics
  • Applications of AI and inference in graphics and gaming
• Communicate and evangelize the value of the research and its resulting technologies to key internal and external partners
• Collaborate with RTG leaders to drive research ideas into products and roadmaps

Preferred Experience:

• Significant technical expertise in graphics, gaming, and related visual technologies
• Active involvement in the graphics and gaming research communities
• Proven history of publications and issued patents that support successful products
• Demonstrated influence on industry standards for graphics

Academic Credentials:

PhD or equivalent research accomplishments in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field
