GRAPHICS R&D ENGINEER  - 126063

 

 

THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a talented senior engineer to join our Core Technology Group (CTG) working within our Game Engineering organization. The CTG is responsible for researching, developing, and productizing new gaming technology for the PC - as well as selected partner ecosystems – and at the same time using this experience to advocate for the needs of game developers on hardware and software roadmaps within AMD. CTG also provides second tier consultancy services for our worldwide Developer Technology teams, indirectly helping AAA game developers with optimization and debugging.

 

 

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate will have a background/interest in software development, computer games, and computer graphics. They will possess excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a self-directed way, managing their day-to-day tasks independently.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and develop novel rendering techniques.
  • Develop SDKs, samples, and documentation for AAA game developers.
  • Working with hardware and software teams within AMD.
  • Develop software which will ship for the PC, as well as selected partner ecosystems.

 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong 3D mathematics skills.
  • Excellent forensic debugging skills.
  • A good understanding of a modern GPU pipeline and graphics software stacks
  • Experience working in the computer games industry and developing game rendering engines.
  • Familiarity with software and hardware ray tracing technology (such as Microsoft DXR).
  • Familiar with modern graphics APIs (such as Vulkan, DirectX 12 or Metal).
  • Experience with profiling and debugging tools for GPUs.

 

 

Academic Credentials:

Bachelors' degree Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent, Master's preferred
