Graphics Processor Software Model Engineer
THE ROLE:
The role of the Graphics Processor Software Functional Model Engineer includes these aspects:
Feature Development: Functional Model engineers work with architects on ideas, called features, to improve AMD’s graphics processor. You will develop knowledge of the new features and implement them in the model. The model is used for functional and performance verification of the graphics and compute pipelines for all our future products. This work ensures that the new features function as envisioned and correctly interact with existing features.
Model Enhancement: The Functional Model is written in C++. You would have the opportunity to leverage your software engineering expertise to improve the model in a number of aspects such as wall-clock runtime, memory consumption, and complexity.
THE PERSON:
As a GPU modeling engineer, you will work in a hardware/software codesign environment to craft industry leading simulation platforms and tools. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled software designer and engineer, who is proficient in C++, and familiar with hardware architecture. Knowledge of the GPU hardware architecture is an advantage. The candidate will work in a big team environment on a variety of opportunities, so teamwork and drive are essential.
