Graphics Design Verification Engineer  

The Role:

The Silicon Design Verification Engineer within the Mobile Graphics Control Subsystem team of the Radeon Technology Group will be responsible for validation of the next generation graphics processor microarchitecture for Mobile Devices. The team collaborates with GPU Architects and ASIC designers across the globe to develop state of the art hardware designs.

 

The Person:

The person will work with a team of verification engineers to verify a state-of-the-art IP that controls the front end of the graphics core for graphics and compute workloads. The ideal candidate is continuously thinking of new ways to improve test coverage and testbench effectiveness. Key Resonsibilities:

Responsibilities will include implementing test plans including developing stimulus models and checkers, producing functional and code coverage results for different levels of design hierarchy, and writing tests with constrained randomization. Other daily tasks may include:

  • Developing high level language test benches, test bench components  stimulus drivers, BFMs, behavioral models, monitors and checkers
  • Debugging simulation fails and working with designers to fix design bugs
  • Analyzing and closing functional and code coverage through directed tests, relaxed random constraints and/or exclusions
  • Assisting with scripting automated jobs and test library curation

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Hardware verification methodology and techniques such as simulation, debug, coverage, formal.
  • Simulation and debug with a Verilog based functional simulator
  • Object Oriented Programming with C/C++ and SystemVerilog, UVM
  • Hands-on work in C++ programming for either hardware modeling or testbench development or projects of similar scope and complexity
  • Solid understanding of microprocessor architecture
  • Scripting with Perl, Bash/Shell scripts, Ruby or equivalent languages

 

Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering preferred
