What you do at AMD changes everything
At AMD, we push the boundaries of what is possible. We believe in changing the world for the better by driving innovation in high-performance computing, graphics, and visualization technologies – building blocks for gaming, immersive platforms, and the data center.
Developing great technology takes more than talent: it takes amazing people who understand collaboration, respect, and who will go the “extra mile†to achieve unthinkable results. It takes people who have the passion and desire to disrupt the status quo, push boundaries, deliver innovation, and change the world. If you have this type of passion, we invite you to take a look at the opportunities available to come join our team.
GPU Shader Lead Hardware Design Engineer
THE ROLE:
We are looking for engineers who are motivated to challenge the status quo. If you are excited about building the next generation GPU shader core, our team is on the lookout for you!
You will be part of a fast-paced team working on the GPU shader design, a team of engineers of varied disciplines who are responsible for micro-architecting, designing and delivering GPU shader IP for various products. Since we are the heart of GPU engine, we strive to challenge ourselves in exceeding area, power and performance targets. No idea is too small; we welcome every initiative that makes our product better.
You will be working on the Simd Processor (SP) block of the GPU Shader, the parallel compute engine of the GPU ISA (instruction set architecture). The SP is a compute intensive block for which highly efficient ALU design is critical. High computation throughput is a key performance metric, so highly efficient data flow and instruction pipeline architecture is also critical. The SP must be capable of execution and co-execution of instructions with a minimum of stalls and pipeline bubbles. The SP is the dominant Shader block for area and power. SP quality is a highly visible project performance contributor. You will work with software, architect, micro-architect and physical design team members to maximize the performance of the most complex and critical of the Shader blocks.
THE PERSON:
You are an “out of the box†thinker, motivated to absorb dynamic changes and thirsty to keep innovating.
