  • Experience in a smartphone go-to-market role, such as sales, pricing, marketing, GTM, retail operations in the the telco and/or smartphones industry.
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience designing and evaluating campaigns across purchase funnel to promote smartphone unit growth in a variety of channels (e.g., retail, telco, online).
  • Experience with category management/development and channel marketing.
  • Experience creating presentations for carriers, retailers, and/or OEMs.
  • Ability to drive growth through strategic thinking and deep partnerships.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration with product/technical and business teams.

About the job

The Android OS Go-to-Market (GTM) team is a new team at Google, setting GTM strategy and ensuring coordination of activities and tactics with our carrier, retailer, and handset OEM partners to sustain ecosystem growth. Combining strategy and planning, as well as day-to-day execution, we work cross-functionally with Business Development, Marketing, and Finance.

In this role, you will be one of the first members of the UK team, focusing on growing the Android ecosystem in the UK smartphone market. You will partner closely with the Country Director and partner managers, bringing to bear your deep experience at an OEM or UK telecom player with price, promotion, brand, product, and performance marketing, and sales of smartphones in channels. You will bring deep knowledge and understanding of consumer dynamics in the smartphone market and the design of branding, price, promotion, placement, bundling and other creative campaigns to promote smartphone growth. You will have direct experience as a marketing, sales, or retail leader, designing impactful campaigns to grow device sales in your prior role(s).

Responsibilities

  • Be a key contributor to development of both short- and long-term Android Go-To-Market strategy for UK.
  • Design Go-To-Market campaigns in close partnership with partners (e.g., performance marketing, affinity, price, retail incentives, placement, fixtures, hardware and software bundles, etc.) to promote Android smartphone growth in the premium segment.
  • Ensure flawless operational execution of campaigns, including effective collaboration between Google and channel partners.
  • Partner with strategy and data science colleagues to ensure robust measurement of campaign incremental impact on Android shipments.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders across Google, including product, finance, strategy, marketing, legal, business development, and compliance, to evaluate and prioritize GTM opportunities from a strategic, financial, and operational perspective.
