Due to ongoing growth, we are looking for a GM Engineering (Billing) to lead, grow and manage a leadership team and their technical teams to deliver high quality solutions across Xero's Platform Technology group.

How you'll make an impact:

As the GM of Engineering, you will lead an Engineering function across Platform Technology to deliver products and services with highly competent, engaged, motivated and professional engineers. You ensure the engineering practices and standards are met within your area and contribute to the maturing and development of these across Xero.

You will work closely with the other GMs of Platform Technology on workforce planning, with the Lead Portfolio Architect to execute technical strategy, and with your direct reports to foster a positive engineering culture. As part of the community of engineering leaders at Xero, you will collaborate with other GMs of Engineering across Xero to ensure alignment and contribute to prioritisation of cross-cutting technical initiatives.

What you'll do:

• Lead and motivate an excellent engineering function through professional development, engineering practice standards and recruitment for scale.
• Ensure Subscription and Billing engineering is aligned with Xero's broader Technology strategy including architecture, engineering, security, data, and compliance.
• Lead the adoption of Xero's Path to Production Standards and collect monthly engineering metrics to ensure continued focus on engineering excellence
• Partner with key stakeholders across Technology, Product, Customer and Finance to deliver on their Subscription and Billing initiatives.
• Establish consistent operational metrics for Subscription & Billing the report on service levels and can be used to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Be accountable for the budget planning, forecasting and tracking for your area including workforce planning.
• Represent Platform Technology's input into merger and acquisition activity, including due diligence, pre/post transaction planning, and integration execution.
