Global Sales & Marketing Senior Finance Analyst

The Role

The Senior Finance Analyst role is a high-visibility cross-functional role within the AMD Sales & Marketing Finance organization located in Austin, TX. This role is essential to the success of the business and the Senior Finance Analyst proactively works with cross-functional teams to drive optimal business results.  Key responsibilities include financial planning and analyses, P&L management, forecasting and planning, monthly and quarterly close execution, strategic ad-hoc initiatives and reporting and process improvements using the latest systems and technologies. This role requires someone with capability to grow within the position and will provide rotational opportunities within the Finance leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Global Sales Finance expert supporting Global Channel Sales organization
• Accurately forecast pricing discounts and provide business insights and variance analyses
• Perform financial analyses and provide decision support for Revenue, Margin and OPEX
• Prepare and deliver executive presentations
• Analyze financial impact of customer deals and communicate impact across functional teams to ensure financial goals are met
• Perform month-end and quarter end close activities, support reporting and consolidation activities related to pricing/rebates
• Coordinate and collaborate very closely with cross-functional teams such as: Regional Finance, Sales, Business Operations, Legal, Accounting etc.
• Drive continuous improvements in execution by collaborating closely with Sales, Finance, Accounting, Business Unit and Systems. Coordinate with systems team and explore opportunities within machine learning

Preferred Experience & Skills

• 4+ years’ experience in Finance/Accounting related roles such as: Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis, Sales Finance, Strategy Finance, Marketing Finance, Business Finance, Accounting and or related Consulting experience
• Strong understanding of Finance/Accounting concepts and general understanding of US GAAP Accounting principles
• Ability to analyze and translate outcomes of financial models and data into insights to drive business value
• Result oriented, self-starter and eager to make a difference
• Advanced financial modeling and forecasting skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Advanced technical skills (Excel, PPT, SAP Oracle etc),
• Preferred knowledge of SalesForce, PowerBI, SQL

Academic Credentials

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing, Accounting or equivalent from an accredited University
• MBA preferred
