The role, which reports to the Executive General Manager Retail Consumer & Auto in the Toll Global Logistics Division, will have direct P&L responsibility for end-to-end supply chain solutions for the Specialty Retail sector across the Southern Australian region (VIC). The Specialty Retail South sector makes up a proportion of the Retail Consumer & Auto Division, with a revenue portfolio ~$100 million.  In addition, this role will be required to support the growth of revenue and profitability in this sector globally and across the Toll Group.

The role also has primary accountability for developing and implementing business plans which incorporate industry and customer needs that deliver the required returns and growth for Toll and that support the key focus areas.

This role will also have accountability for optimising the assets and capabilities across Toll to be an industry leader in the provision of supply chain solutions within this vertical sector.  Working effectively with customers and within a complex matrix environment, the role will also work closely with other Toll business and functional support teams globally to ensure a superior supply chain offering and capability across the sector is consistently delivered.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Develop and deliver a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement throughout the Specialty Retail South sector, with demonstrated year on year improvements in all areas.
• Develop and deliver business and market plans to execute the Specialty Retail South operational plan and operating budgets, including actively monitoring and managing short and long term objectives.
• Champion and lead the delivery of superior and high quality customer service, driving positive net promoter responses, positive customer experiences and high rate of contract renewals.
• Build, retain and develop high performing teams through the delivery of an effective people and organisation strategy that includes effective employee engagement, mentoring, coaching and succession planning.
• Support, in conjunction with Business Development, the pursuit of organic and developmental growth for the Specialty Retail South sector.
• Drive and deliver optimised cost and service options for customers, focusing on diligent cost management and optimal delivery of value added services. 

Qualifications

In order to succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have:

• At least 10 years’ experience in a senior leadership role
• Knowledge of the Specialty Retail sector
• Sound experience in Logistics/Supply Chain Management across all modes – warehousing, transport, freight forwarding
• Experience in business development and developing growth plans
• Experience in full P&L management and responsibility
• Experience in working in a matrix business environment
• Ability to develop and mentor a high performing individuals and teams
• Awareness of ER/IR processes, including employee engagement and mitigation planning
• Understanding of COR legislation, and associated responsibilities.
