What you'll do

Tendering for Indirect Procurement categories:
•    Onboarding new procurement categories and defining the sourcing strategy
•    Conducting strategic sourcing initiatives, including negotiations, supplier and industry analysis, benchmarks, cost structure analysis ensuring process compliance and high levels of customer satisfaction
•    Managing the tender process & contract management
•    Manage the end-to-end procurement process to challenge sourcing approach and scope of the business requirements
•    Negotiating with suppliers
•    Managing and maintaining supplier relationships

Leading the development of Sustainability Initiatives:
•    Analysing business processes, generating new ideas and constantly looking to improve efficiency with a focus on sustainability
•    Contributing relevant information on how to reduce the use of resources and emissions and optimise packaging of procurement goods
•    Developing procurement sustainability strategies and initiatives to optimise the environmental and social impact of procurement goods and service
•    Review procurement processes to improve sustainability focus and contribute with strategies on how to review 3rd party suppliers’ performance to achieve sustainability targets
•    Keeping up to speed with research, changes in legislation and innovation that apply to the area of responsibility
•    Educating and training colleagues and stakeholders on environmental and sustainability issues
•    Preparing summaries, overviews and project status documents for senior management personnel
•    Work on strategic projects with high level of autonomy and leadership as well as with high level of exposure to Board of Directors within Lidl UK

What you'll need

• Category management experience in either a Buying or Procurement-related field
• Experience with sustainability initiatives / projects
• CIPS qualification is highly desirable
• Experience working with suppliers, contract management and tendering
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Effective negotiator and confident presenter (able to present and propose projects/ideas to Board level employees)
• The ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently within tight deadlines
• Strong knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
