Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an analyst to join our team to support this work, with a particular focus on exercising. Specific responsibilities will be agreed dependent on experience and personal interest. These are likely to involve some or all of the following: 

  • Supporting the development and delivery of the Bank’s sector testing and exercise strategy. This will involve working alongside other specialists to develop our overarching program of sector-wide, international and technical exercises and cyber stress tests. There will be potential for post holders to lead on key elements of exercise development and execution.
  • Representing the Bank at industry-led meetings focusing on operational/cyber resilience.
  • Supporting the Bank in the management, administration and delivery of key incident response frameworks. 
  • Working with industry colleagues to develop and deliver sector-wide operational resilience capabilities, including cyber exercises.
  • Research and analysis in response to specific questions or issues.
  • Working closely with other members of the team to explore commonalities with other relevant workstreams.

Role Requirements

Minimum Criteria

Experience gained in at least two of the following areas:

  • Scoping, preparing and delivering an operational resilience and / or cyber-focused exercise.
  • Incident response/crisis management – experience in incident response or similar activities (event management etc.), being part of a team’s response to an operational incident. Identifying and remediating any issues during post-incident reviews.  
  • Project management – specifically working with multiple partners across organisational boundaries to deliver sophisticated, high-profile projects.

Essential Criteria

  • Capable of managing own workstack, within tight deadlines and during quick changes of pace.
  • Ability to engage and influence colleagues of different seniority and technical backgrounds.
  • Strong communication skills, including written and verbal communication and ability to, tailor communications to audience. Able to communicate technical, sophisticated or sensitive information.
  • Effective problem solving skills with an ability to turn analysis into relevant output for the Bank.
  • Able to provide challenge within your specialist area and be open to challenge from others
  • Experience of working as part of a team. A collaborative working style and ability to work with partners across the Bank and externally.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in a relevant area of our work (e.g. financial stability, supervision, payments, market infrastructure, data analysis etc.) and the ability to apply this to new area.

The salary range for this vacancy is approximately Â£36,860 to £43,650, dependent on relevant skills and experience. In addition, the total reward package also includes: 

  • A non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/95th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/50th) or decrease (to 1/120th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year.
  • A discretionary performance award based on a current award pool.
  • A 7% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits.
  • 25 days annual leave with option to buy up to 13 additional days through flexible benefits.
  • Private medical insurance and income protection.
