Location: London based with flexibility to work from home 4 days per week and 1 day in the London office.

Salary & Benefits: Â£61,176 to £76,470 base salary, plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Open Banking Lab:

Lloyds Banking Group are transforming the way we do Engineering. We’ve created “Platforms” and we're building multi-functional, co-located teams giving them freedom to bring technology to the forefront of our business. This will help us create new, and improve existing, products and services to help us really make a difference to our customers.

Open banking (OB) connects banks, third-parties and technical providers – enabling them to simply and securely exchange data and make payments to their customers’ benefit. At Lloyds, we run one of the largest Open Banking Channel in the UK.

About the Role:

You'll be responsible for Open Banking MI engineering, working alongside the business, product owners, engineering chapter leads and BI specialists to contribute to the Bank's toughest business problems. You bring critical 'data expertise' to help shape the approach solving problems and contributing with new or different datasets into the mix.

You'll develop high quality, reusable data pipelines at scale, ingesting structured and unstructured data into our data lake and feature engineering for curating data for consumption through analytics and BI.

Our MI team uses on-prem and cloud environments, using different data toolsets, as well as evaluating exciting new technologies to expand our capabilities.

With your skills spanning across data querying/analysis and a mix of data platforms (e.g. Teradata, Hadoop, Spark, Oracle DB) you’ll get to work on MI (Management Information) reporting team. This will also give you some horizon-expanding exposure to all the product areas of Open Banking, customer journey, regulatory reporting and channel performance.

About You:

You're the sort of confident data professional we’re looking for – passionate about both data/analytics with an interest in solving problems through data and translating data into analytics based opportunities; Role-modelling Data Engineering as it should be in the digital age.

You’ll have excellent communication skills: influencing and working effectively with technical and non-technical audiences - asking intelligent questions and able to make complex data analysis simple and you’ll have the imagination we actively encourage to innovate and help build a truly market-leading data and analytics function.

What we need from you:

  • Advanced coding/scripting experience in SQL developed in a commercial/industry setting

  • Advance knowledge of Python for Data processing applications (using Panda module)

  • Knowledge of Excel & VBA in Excel developed in a commercial/industry setting

  • Comfortable working with relational and non-relational databases to build data solutions

  • Computer science fundamentals: a clear understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design, design patterns and core programming concepts

It would be great if you:

  • Had experience of Teradata

  • Exposure to SQL server, Hadoop or Spark

  • An understanding of cloud technology for analytics and/or machine learning

  • Financial services experience, specifically Open Banking
