Job Description
As a Financial Controller, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining financial and operational controls, tracking metrics, preparing financial statements, responding to ad-hoc accounting or tax queries and applying various management accounting techniques.
- Assisting in the review and approval of global contracts including identifying financial and compliance issues pertinent to GLSC and the network in the review and understanding of contracts.
- Managing the recognition of associated costs, and their related cost allocation and recovery from participating PwC member firms.
- Leading compliance requirements including the external audit, GST filings, and other compliance queries.
- Developing full lifecycle cost model and allocations approaches on consultation with contract negotiators and funding sponsors, and accurately determining and assigning contract financial impacts to member firms.
- Tracking multi-year contracts, financial commitments and contract contingencies.
- Mitigating financial, legal, tax, operational and data protection risks to GLSC, and the PwC Network including knowing when to engage subject matter specialists.
- Optimizing use of cash holdings and managing foreign exchange and tax exposures.
- Supervising and coaching team of contracts analysts, billing and accounting staff to perform at a high level.
- Management and allocation of team member workloads, providing suggestions for strategic improvements and implementation of ideas.
- Developing and improving processes, tools and systems to manage an increasingly larger number of IT contracts, suppliers and software license entitlements across the member firms.
- Collaborating with PwC Technology & NIS, Global Procurement, Global OGC and Risk, and Network Operations colleagues and fostering compliance with financial policies and controls.
- Modeling and cultivating a team culture of ownership, execution, and continuous learning and improvement.
- Supporting global initiatives to align member firms to a Network Technology Strategy and reduce costs.
- Supporting the implementation and use of new enterprise accounting and contract management platforms.
Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve
- Accounting designation preferred
- Progressive experience in corporate and/or multinational financial management roles.
- Experience with IFRS accounting, audits and board level reporting.
- Ability to assimilate information from multiple sources and drive decisions in the face of ambiguity.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships across many different functions and organization levels.
- Possess strong interpersonal, negotiation, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Process improvement and project management skills and experience.

- Enjoy hands on activities requiring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Software skills including MS Office and Sharepoint, GSuite, ERP and P2P systems, database structure and data visualization tools.
- Experience with ERP systems implementations and change management is an asset.
- Direct experience with IT software licensing/subscription/asset management and legal contracts are considered an asset.
- General knowledge of the enterprise IT marketplace and trends considered an asset.
- Experience with sourcing and procurement is considered an asset.
- Some travel may be required.
