  • Description

    A Project Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Engineering function with the planning and execution of projects. Their duties include planning, executing and monitoring every aspect of a specific project. Track progress and supervise project teams to ensure the achievement of milestones. They act as an intermediary between upper management and the project team To represent the internal customers by Coordinating all automation projects to a successful conclusion through the automation development cycle & inter linking with other factory wide Engineering integration projects of capital equipment.

    • Concept development
    • Supplier Selection and purchasing
    • Design and Development
    • Build and test
    • Installation, commission and hand over

  • Requirements
    • Coordinate the RFQ process and oversee processing of machines & invoices.
    • Regularly communicate the project status; manage any deviations to timeline or specification in a structured collaborative manner.
    • Report monthly against milestones to monitor performance and manage identified areas of continuous improvement.
    • Responsible for updating information on automation portfolio for Manchester.
    • Responsible for coordinating group projects and ensuring relevant departments are involved & informed.
    • Ensure stakeholder receives clear regular updates on project status Vs target.
    • Coordinate ad hoc review forums to manage deviations from the plan.
    • Support Automation Engineers as liaison between internal stakeholders, outside suppliers and end users on purchasing, design, manufacturing & installation.

    Essential

    • Relevant industry experience, a minimum HNC in Engineering based on experience or foundation level qualification.
    • Background in Project Management/ Coordination
    • Positive ‘can-do’ attitude – able to remain calm under pressure and influence the views of others.
    • Excellent communication skills – able to quickly build effective working relationships with key stakeholders
    • A good team player – able to integrate well at all levels (cross functional) and support team objectives.
    • Proficiency in inventory control and process improvement.
    • Working knowledge of project management software or tools.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent customer relationship and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and make hard decisions required to achieve project objectives

    Desirable

    • Degree qualified in project or business management – Association for Project Management
    • Advanced Project Management Professional certifications.
    • Knowledge of engineering date management systems.
    • Knowledge of bespoke machine procurement.
    • Plastic Injection Moulding experience.
