Job Description

The Role

 

In this role, you’ll carry out the following roles and responsibilities:
 

  • Ensuring critical equipment is identified and that correct preventative maintenance programmes are in place to prevent unanticipated failures
  • Where plant issues are identified, providing technical expertise and knowledge to ensure robust corrective actions are in place to correct issues and prevent reoccurrence
  • Actively participating in the on-line and outage work planning process, providing engineering technical input and ensuring prioritisation of work is based on the criticality of equipment and its potential impact on plant performance from safety, reliability and efficiency perspectives
  • Maintaining and developing knowledge within your relevant discipline, taking responsibility for your own training and development
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge of the plant and systems and act as system manager, with responsibility for the equipment reliability of fuel route systems.

The Skills

 

We need you to be organised, self-motivated, able to work under your own initiative and have a positive attitude. You'll need drive, a sense of ownership and a “can do” attitude. With a demanding workload, you’ll need to prioritise work accordingly and work flexibly in a team as well as independently. 

 As a minimum, you’ll need to hold an HNC/HND in a relevant discipline but a degree leading to Chartered status would be advantageous. An awareness of relevant legal and regulatory framework and compliance requirements is essential for you to ensure that all activities are carried out with full regard to Site Licence requirements, statutory regulations and company standards. You’ll need the ability to build effective networks and negotiate and influence effectively towards the achievement of business objectives, as well as manage projects from low to high complexity and be able to lead diverse multi-disciplined teams.

Competitive Salary & Benefits

 

The salary range is between Â£36,175 - £77,677, with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Energy Nuclear Generation Company Agreement.  The starting salary for this appointment will be dependent of your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.  You will receive 28 days annual holiday plus bank holidays, incremental and competency-based progression and a Company pension scheme.
