You'll have the following responsibilities

You’ll be working on a data visualisation and presentation platform. You’ll be helping us expand its functionality and improve the users experience. 

Understand customer problems and work on technical solutions

Investigate and recommend new toolsets and processes to help develop and deploy our software

Work with end users to design and prototype new UI features

Build accessible, responsive design web UI functionality

Develop backend functionality and APIs

Use automated test tools for unit, integration and system tests

Develop training plans & materials 

Share knowledge both within the team and with our Special Interest Groups

Influence customer decision making on technical areas, driving forward their roadmap

Take ownership of planning, developing and delivering projects

You'll have the following skills & experience

Due to the sensitive nature of our work, you will be required to gain and maintain high level government security clearance and be willing to undergo the initial enhanced screening.  All job offers are conditional on these requirements. You will need to have UK residency for 9 out of the last 10 years and be a UK national. At least one of your parents is also required to be either a British citizen or hold citizenship/nationality.

Qualified to degree level or with significant experience of technical delivery

Significant technical leadership and delivery experience

Experience with JavaScript frameworks, preferably React. 

Web dev experience (HTML, CSS)

Middle tier development experience (Java, Spring, JUnit)

Worked with web services (RESTful web services, JSON)

Interest in UI development and UX

PREFERRED experience:

Worked in agile development teams

Linux development

Scripting (Bash, Python)

Containerised deployment (Docker, Kuberneties)

Source code management tools (Git, SVN)
