The Opportunity

We’re one of the big suppliers, we’re agile and move quickly when it comes to tech. We’re evolving our IT landscape from traditional on-premise monoliths to a collection of scalable, independent micro services which enable us to react to the fast paced nature of business and uncertainty.

Our Software Engineering practice is at the heart of this transformation, and is a multi-disciplined team with generalists and specialists; be it front-end, back-end, DevOps, SRE or QA – everyone’s welcome!

We are supported by strong collaboration with our architects, delivery leads and product owners and our methodology is based around agile delivery, DevOps structure and high amounts of test and pipeline automation. We’d love to hear from engineers who want to help shape, develop and grow our software engineering practice
 

We're looking for front-end developers to build our future self service and e-commerce platforms that serve our energy and beyond-supply products like EV and micro-generation. You'll have a solid eye for UI/UX and help our product owners turn their vision into reality.

Our Technology

Our core working methods are based around modern DevOps process; shift-left, whole-sale automation of testing, and deployment, and "everything as code"

 A high level view of our tech stack is:

• React 
• Redux

• CI/CD  with Github/CodeBuild/CodePipeline
• AWS S3+Cloudfront, CI/CD with CodePipeline/CodeBuild
• Terraform

Ways of Working:
 

• Agile, typically 2x sprint cycles
• Delivery/Collaboration based around Confluence, Jira, Slack, Teams
• Engineers deployed into self contained product teams “squads” that operate with larger domains or “tribes”
• Guilds used to bring common roles and interests together
• DevOps accountability – build and run

The team is growing rapidly and we are always looking for different levels of talent. Our preference is promote within the team and grow our engineers into seniors and leads where they have the aptitude and desire. There are also scope across the wider technology teams too if you have ambitions longer term outside of just software engineering.
