Job Description
The Role:
The primary purpose of the role is to oversee fresh produce in the depot to ensure consistent customer delivered quality. Specifically managing the quality and rotation of locally stocked product (liaising with our key produce supplier and supply chain), training and management of stewarding, loading and delivery of produce from the depot and onboarding / process management of specific high-risk customer’s produce orders. This will be achieved through the implementation of the requirements, policies, procedures, data analysis and training at depot
- Monitor quality of stored produce daily and ensure compliance to specification and perfect rotation.
- Monitor the quality of inbound produce.
- Spot check customer picked product, to ensure quality consistency and freshness. Spot check any agreed high-risk customers (new / onboarding and those picked up directly with sales colleagues).
- To be the local link between operations and sales for produce issues (and ensure resolution is achieved with supporting Brakes & supplier functions).
- To audit depot operations (including daily spot checks) end to end that impact delivered produce quality – and support our central audit processes.
- To audit the implementation of training packages and support compliance and improvement to audit the implementation training packages and support compliance and
- To be involved with training package design and where necessary delivery to improve product handling within the depot.
All these activities at the home depot and designated remote depots in the jobholders region
Essential skills & experience:

- Food operations experience
- ​​​​​​​You should be a highly motivated person, a self-starter, excellent communicator and someone that is extremely customer centric. You will have a systematic approach and an eye for detail.
- Microsoft office inc Excel, powerpoint & word (basic level)
- Food technical / QA (ideally with a professional technical qualification)
- Auditor
- Fresh produce Knowledge
