ROLE RESPONSIBILITY:

Forensic Quality Manager 

West Midlands Region – West Midlands, West Mercia, Staffordshire & Warwickshire (The successful candidate will be based from home however, the occassional travel will be required)

£42,000 - £45,000

Full Time - 40 hrs per week - Monday to Friday

 

About our Site:

G4S Health Services has been one of the leading providers to all justice health environments since 2005. Working across Secure, Custody and Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARC) across the UK, we provide primary care and forensic healthcare to a wide range of patients.

 

A Sexual Assault Referral Centre is a dedicated centre providing a comprehensive service to men, women and children who have suffered sexual assault, both for those who wish to involve the Police and those who self-refer.  Utilising a multi-disciplinary team of Doctors, Nurses, Crisis Workers, Police Officers and support staff the SARC will provide crisis support, appropriate facilities and trained staff for completion of forensic medical examination, provision and advice regarding aftercare including emergency contraception, pregnancy testing, as well as facilitating counselling and ongoing support via third sector agencies and Independent Sexual Violence Advisors.

 

Job Spec:

To lead on the Forensic Science Regulator (FSR) UKAS Accreditation for G4S Health SARC Services to meet BS EN ISO 15189:2012. To ensure that SARC services are compliant with the FSR Codes of Practice and Conduct. To work collaboratively with key stakeholders. To develop, implement and maintain a quality management system which adheres to the requirements of ISO accreditation and the FSRs requirements. To work collaboratively with key stakeholders.

 

 

What’s involved:

  • To Lead on the Forensic Science Regulator (FSR) UKAS Accreditation for G4S Health SARC Services to meet BS EN ISO 15189:2012.
  • To work with SARC Managers to ensure that SARC services are compliant with ISO15189 and the Forensic Regulator’s Codes of Practice and Conduct and its relevant appendices.
  • To establish, document, implement and maintain a Quality Management system (QMS) as part of the accreditation process.
  • To lead on the development and writing of policy and standard operating procedures relevant to the FSR codes of practice.
  • To work with SARC Managers to maintain a local risk register to identify gaps and mitigation.
  • To work collaboratively with Police Forces and Forensic Manager Leads.
  • To develop and implement a competence framework for SARC staff in line with their role and the FSR Codes or Practice and Conduct.
  • To develop and deliver training input to staff in line with the required competencies.
  • To develop audit tools to assess competencies and evidence standards compliance.
  • To develop and implement an audit programme to test the QMS once it’s been implemented, analysing performance data to spot areas for improvement.
  • To be involved in mobilisations of new SARC contracts and lead on the SARC FSR accreditation activities.
  • To provide forensic advice for the development of services.
  • To provide progress reports to Head of SARC Services.
  • Develop relationships and work closely with UKAS, Forensic Capability Network (FCN), FSR/Home Office, Policing, NHS and stakeholders to ensure smooth and effective external assessments of SARCs, minimising risk of loss of accreditation.
  • Maintain an awareness of current legislation, updates, changes and introductions of new legislation ensuring procedures are in place to control business activities and processes.
  • Demonstrate lateral vision and see beyond current working practices to identify and develop innovative business practices that may positively impact quality and performance of SARC Services.
  • Comply to the Forensic Science Regulators codes of conduct.
  • To maintain confidentiality at all times, adhering to data protection and maintaining Caldicott Guidelines at all times.
  • Responsible for personal continued professional development.
  • To adhere to policies and procedures produced by G4S Health and the SARC.
  • Participate in bi annual Employee Development Review (EDR).
  • Carry out any reasonable request from your Line Manager.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Essential Skills:

  • Degree or equivalent level of qualification in a relevant subject.

  • Supervisor/managerial experience with an excellent knowledge and understanding of the principles of Quality Management.

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver information using a wide variety of formats.

  • Experience of negotiating and influencing discussions, decisions and change with internal and external partners and agencies.

  • Training experience.

  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure and Police VettingAccess to own transport.

  • Competent IT Skills.

  • Good Time management.

 

  

Desirable Skills:

  • Project Management qualification.

  • Chartered Quality Institute Practitioner/Chartered Quality Professional.
