Job Description

As a Fleet Controller you will be planning and co-ordinating the pickup and delivery of consignments in order to ensure the effective and efficient utilisation of the fleet on a minimum cost basis and as per customer\'s requirements. This will include all modes of transport such as road, rail, sea.

Transporting high consequence dangerous goods, this key position based in Laverton North is required to ensure all outcomes are achieved on a daily basis including safety & compliance, customer relations, fleet utilization and profitability are in line with Toll\'s contractual obligations.

As the Fleet Controller, you will:

  • Schedule and control activities associated with the arrival, departure, loading and unloading of all fleet.
  • Assist in determining trip feasibility based on fleet, schedule, maintenance and drivers\' availability and/or operational limitations.
  • Investigate and take corrective action where incidents occur that pose a potential risk to the reputation of Toll and or achievement of set KPI\'s relating to delivery performance
  • Providing professional communication to key stakeholders, both internal and external, and maintain strong relationships. 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Min 2 years’ experience in the industrial sector, preferably logistics related and experience in a fleet supervisory role.
  • Wharf experience highly regarded
  • Excellent planning abilities with high attention to detail 
  • A commitment to complying with safety practices
  • Proven ability to build excellent working relationships with the team and external customers
  • Integrity, trustworthiness, professionalism and a customer centric approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal & written skills, communication is an essential part of the role
  • Skills in; Excel, Word and Outlook.
