Reporting to the Manager, Avionics Engineering, this position is responsible to provide day to day support to Inflight Entertainment and connectivity system, Cabin avionics system and other passenger convenience system. 

 

  • Coordinate with vendors and/or internal customers for the delivery of new IFE and connectivity system and ensure the system performance, reliability and all required maintenance functions to be met.
  • Accountable to provide the technical support to the internal customers in terms of new projects, upgrades, cabin avionics system performance & reliability, IFE and connectivity system test and development, etc.
  • Accountable to investigate any iterative avionics issues occurred in the cabin area.
  • Responsible to keep all the technical drawing up-to-date and make necessary amendment in the timely manner.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and accommodate changing priorities.
  • Ability to provide on-site engineering support followed by the nature aircraft downtime (overnight, weekend & holiday).
  • Represent Engineering during multidiscipline meetings and provide input in area of expertise.
  • Collaborate with other team member to provide seamless engineering support across the fleet.
  • Monitor the IFE and connectivity system performance on daily basis.
  • Contribute to reduction of operational and maintenance cost.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or other technical discipline or equivalent.
  • Must be a member (or eligible) of a professional engineering association.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral in English – French is an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of computer software (Excel, Word, Microsoft Project).
  • Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD software.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Pride in accuracy and good work presentation to the satisfaction of internal customers.
  • Self-starter requiring minimum supervision with good decision-making ability.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to co-ordinate details to successful conclusion.
  • Willingness to be on call and to work overtime at and away from home base, as required by day-to-day needs.
  • Availability to travel overseas for training, industry meetings, etc.
  • Must be clear of any restrictions which will prevent entry into other countries
