Job Description

About WEL Networks

We're excited to be innovating and upgrading our ever-growing network and future-proofing our region as we diversify from a traditional lines company into a multi-utility; continuing to play an essential role in the Waikato region's economic and social development.

With the energy landscape changing at pace, we are focussing now more than ever on unlocking our energy potential and realising our vision: to create an innovative energy future.

We are looking for skilled, innovative and enthusiastic team members, passionate about supporting WEL into the future.

We have a unique model for operating our faults roster - this is a salaried position and offers a real opportunity to enjoy a great work / life balance.

What can we offer you?

  • An industry-leading salary package
  • 24/7 shift roster - developed to be family friendly and to maximise your time off
  • Opportunities to train and develop your career - upskill your trade qualifications or simply grow your existing skills
  • The best vehicles and equipment

We are looking for an exceptional individual to complete the team. What we will need from you is:

  • An absolute commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and those around you
  • Significant electricity distribution experience and current registration as an Electrician, Line Mechanic or Live Line Mechanic
  • The confidence and maturity to work alone and make important decisions in the field
  • The desire to develop and grow your skills

Staff benefits

At WEL, we look after our people - with medical, life and income protection insurance, a variety of flexible working options, the safest equipment and plenty of upskilling opportunities.

We are committed to making sure our people go home safe every day, and with a drug and alcohol free worksite we will require you to take a drug and alcohol test before you join us.

How to apply

At WEL we value diversity and innovation, and want extraordinary people with vision to join us. It is important to us that we get to experience a little bit of the 'real you' in your application. Apply now with your CV and please take the time in a cover letter to tell us what really floats your boat - what sets you apart, why you want to be a part of our team and some of your proudest achievements.

Although we are really keen to fill this role - it is crucial we find the right fit for WEL, so we are prepared to start interviewing and close applications early, or leave the role open until we find the right person.

Safety: As an essential service, WEL Networks has a COVID-19 Vaccination Policy to ensure we can continue to deliver our services and keep our community safe. We require all our employees (and visitors to WEL sites) to be fully vaccinated.
