As a post order design engineer you will be ultimately responsible of all electrical design elements including but not limited to the Fire & Security Systems in supporting the business on the large/ complex projects.  You will drive the detailed design and estimate and/or specifications in line with company policies, relevant British, European and international Standards. You will have the ability to have an objective and proactive approach in producing high quality detailed co-ordinated designs to ensure project success.

You will have an ability to produce fully detailed specifications / technical submittals / training materials and operational manuals to meet with design and standard criteria.

There will be a requirement to work at all company branches (base specified) throughout UK&I or at a customer's premises in support to the Operational Teams as required. 
 

Post order support for PM’s / FLM’s where required to value-engineer solutions further once orders have been received to assist in maintaining and/or improving project margins. Where required design changes and additions to fill variation orders on works in hand with the operational teams.

Ability to have an objective and proactive approach in reviewing detailed designs to provide value engineered solutions where required and to produce fully detailed specifications and technical submittals with complete detailed schematics & drawings to meet with design criteria.

How you will do it:

You will do this through delivering new and additional designs work:

• Understanding of the customers / contacts within business.
• Daily liaison with the client / customer both internal and external.
• Ensure design variations / systems are captured and are commercially effective that meet the customer’s specification and standard requirements.
• You will work closely with your new business colleagues to ensure a smooth handover of the proejcts from sales through design and completion with all design deliverables required.
