What you'll do

As a Financial Crime Solutions Product Owner, you’ll bring the point of view of our customers, end users or stakeholders to the forefront of understanding the product vision. With exceptional leadership skills, you’ll drive your team towards this vision, regularly stopping along the way to check-in, adjust, calibrate and move forward. We’ll also look to you to make sure that stories and enablers meet the acceptance and quality criteria, keeping them in-line with the vision, features and programme increment objectives. You’ll be working in our Financial Crime Hub, specifically enabling Payment Filtering, Customer Screening, Anti-Tax Evasion, Anti-Bribery and Corruption therefore experience in these areas would be extremely beneficial.  You’ll need to have a good awareness of the Financial Crime marketplace, their solutions and the evolving Financial and Regulatory Technology Participants.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Controlling and owning your team’s backlog content authority and helping break down features into stories with clear priorities to enable delivery in partnership with your Platform and Financial Crime Operational colleagues
  • Making sure that the backlog is maintained, and that your delivery teams are collaborating frequently and effectively with key stakeholders and users to populate and refine the backlog
  • Working with Operational, Second Line and Platform Technology teams to continually evolve the vision, target state, roadmaps and key outcomes to deliver
  • Supporting the development of your teams by investing in their growth, enabling them through clarity, capability growth and servant leader behaviours
  • Tracking and reporting progress, and attending governance and relevant ceremonies that  span all delivery teams that are involved with delivering the product

The skills you'll need

We’re looking for a creative thinker and an established leader, with significant experience of working in Financial Crime and in one or more of these areas:  Payment Filtering, Customer Screening, Anti-Tax Evasion, Anti-Bribery and Corruption. You’ll be accustomed to working in a large scale financial institution, recognised as a Subject Matter Expert in this field. You’ll have a proven understanding of Agile methodologies and experience of working in Scaled Agile teams. You’ll need to be able to relate your everyday work to the broader strategic vision of your feature team, along with the ability to maintain a strong focus on business outcomes. And, you’ll have excellent communication and influencing skills.

Additionally, we’ll expect you to have:

  • Knowledge of product development and management techniques
  • Proven experience of building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships at all levels in an organisation
  • Experience of changing team or department mind-sets, culture and structure
  • Relevant expertise on how to partner with Operations, First Line and Second Lines to define and drive successful delivery of key outcomes across operational and technology services
  • A background of working with delivery teams and knowledge of collaboration techniques
  • The ability to motivate, actively engage and communicate with colleagues at all levels
